Michael Bamdad and some of the students attending the program at GW.
We covered meaningful subjects about and related to brain functioning; cognitive activity and cognitive decline, neuroplasticity and learning...
The programs were presented in a creative, fun and interactive way. ¬ÝWe provided examples and interventions that have been implemented with older adults.
A family member Linda (daughter), and one of our dear elders Lucy (mother), ¬Ýwere invited to talk with the students attending the program.
A very meaningful conversation about memory, caregiver issues, and interventions to better the quality of life of elders and caregivers.
Kathy J. Ward explained meaningful cognitive and sensory training interventions with older adults based on her years of experience working in Dementia and Alzheimer’Äôs units.
Formal and informal recreation and activity interventions aim at improving cognitive functioning, social integration and a healthier brain for everyone. Interventions like: sensory seeking, sensible decision-making, creativity, spirituality and others..
