It is invaluable the level of physical and mental stimulation an elder achieves by playing TOSS THE BALL. We used a red balloon for visual stimulation and to keep the attention focused on the red vibrant color. It is cheerful and FUN.

Lucy uses all her body to receive the ball and send it back. She was very attentive and her responses where very accurate.

Magdalene said "the balloon is much better than the ball in the office. This is not heavy and easy to play with."

|
Magdale and some of the elders in the group soon discovered that they could also use their legs and feet to keep the balloon up.

When possible, encourrage staff members to join the elders in projects and programs. The excersice (toss the ball) with a couple of staff members is more fun and help to build an inclusive community where everyone is invited to participate.
